Dee Robinson considers herself, first and foremost, a poet, which is the cradle of her creativity. She became a writer-for-hire when she founded Dee Robinson the Right Writer Professional Writing Service. She spent over 20 years as a speech writer, ghostwriter, editor, consultant, and ‘idea-ist’ for clients. After helping many others write books, she’s written one in her own name titled The Capricious & Anecdotal Sojourn of a Woman who Sometimes Processes Information in a Peculiar Fashion. In 1998, Dee established Mentaltainment, a production company with an emphasis on enlightening and uplifting live entertainment. The concept behind Mentaltainment is to provide “information disguised as entertainment.”
Dee is also an indie filmmaker and has produced two short films—It’s Never too Late and The Healing House. Both films have deep messages and were inspired by songs she wrote. She’s planning her first feature film called Heavy Hitters, which is a romantic drama set in the world of Steppin’.
As a poet, Dee produced the critically-acclaimed spoken word CD "WomanFlower" (Spoken Words of Love & Eroticism). The project was unique in its approach and delivery and listeners considered it singing rather that spoken word. She’s also a singer/songwriter with a song called “I Like It” that became a huge hit on the indie circuit and has gone worldwide. In 2014, she released a CD called Grown & Sexy Lullabies: Music to Love By.
As a singer/songwriter, Dee released I Like It that, surprisingly to her, became a huge hit on the indie circuit and has gone worldwide. In 2014, she released the CD Grown & Sexy Lullabies: Music to Love By. In 2017 Dee released Let There be Love, an 11-track CD.
Dee Robinson was born and raised in Gary, Indiana, only a few streets away from her favorite entertainer Michael Jackson, with whom she also shares a birthday—August 29. Dee’s initial emphasis in entertainment was working behind the scenes creating, developing, and producing live theatrical events to showcase independent artists. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Georgia State University; and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
